Steve Fogarty takes his final flight

I'm sad to report that Steve Forgarty took his final flight on on Saturday January 18th after a long illness. Steve was one of "the good guys", a long-time WAPA member and we'll miss his enthusiasm and support immensely.   His obituary is on the Telegram page of legacy.com.

Per Steve's wishes, there is no funeral or calling hours. The family plans a Celebration of his Life during the warmer weather. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to one of the following: The Friends of the Haston Free Public Library, 161 North Main St, North Brookfield, MA 01535 or North Brookfield Troop 257 c/o Bob Pariseau, 8 Mt. Pleasant Place, North Brookfield, MA 01535.

There is a bit of a story behind the fly-out to Bradley in 2005. Not much flying happened that day, as it developed into a significant snow storm. Steve rented a van and drove us down to BDL. We got a great tour of the tower, and had a good visit at the Bradley Air Museum.

Chris Kosak was able to visit the memorial walkway at Oshkosh in 2021. He sent us these photos of the brick.
