Feb 3, 2005, 7pm - Working to Secure GA's Future: Reports from the Front

  • Have you considered what it would mean to your flying if your flight school or FBO were sued? Or if you were, personally?

  • Do you know that four New England pilots and one flight school are being sued for $1M each by members of the organization Stop the Noise, just for flying near their houses? And that three of the pilots have had to sell their airplane just to cover their legal bills?

  • Are you aware that Stop the Noise is reaching out to anti-GA organizations across the country, hoping to spread their message - and their tactics?

  • Do you want to keep GA in the US comparatively affordable and accessible, and not have it go the way of Europe's highly regulated, user fee based, rigidly controlled - and expensive - model?

You are invited to join AFSA (EAA Chapter 1392) and fellow pilots at Nashua Airport for an important event on the evening of February the 3rd. The program is "Working to Secure GA's Future: Reports from the Front," and it features the following speakers:

  • ROB HOLLAND, Aerial Advantage Aviation founder,
  • STEVE PENNYPACKER, past IAC 35 President,
  • PETER SCHMIDT, AFSA President

Come discuss the present threats to GA and to all our flying, what's being done to address them, and what we need you to do to help. RSVP to me, (Peter H. Schmidt) thanks.

Hope to see you on the 3rd -- Peter Schmidt

Speaker Information:

ROB HOLLAND
Aerial Advantage Aviation founder, on the challenges of starting up a flight school in New England and on flying in Europe after his Top-10 finish in Sweden at the advanced World Aerobatic Championships in July 2004.
