MAC 2004 Registration Fee Increase, Fines

Update: 12/10/2003: Eric Waldron called. He got an email from MAC, and they are very serious about the 12/31 deadline. Fines for late registration will be assessed this time. Eric suggested that I send out a reminder to WAPA, so don't forget to send your "Holiday Contribution" to MAC prior to the year end deadline!

George writes "MAC has the 2004 Aircraft Registration Applications out early. Registration fees have increased by between $25. and $75, depending upon the aircraft Take-off Weight. The minimum fee is now $100, and it tops out at $300. They have also imposed a fine of $75. for registrations not received by December 31st, so it's not a good idea let that date slip by.

In addition to the increased fees and fine, they point out that:

  • MAC contributed to the justification of the sales tax exemption for aircraft and aircraft parts sales.
  • State issued Airport ID Badges are required for access to all GA Airports in Massachusetts. Badges are issued by your local airport, and grant reciprocal at all airports in MA except for BED and BOS."
