Is this a FAA approved technique?

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday.

An airline official stated "The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights." Let's hope that maybe a mechanic had a hand in the solution as well.

I wonder how this fits in with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 43, section 43.13(a) which states that, “Each person performing maintenance, alteration, or preventive maintenance on an aircraft, engine, propeller, or appliance shall use the methods, techniques, and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer’s maintenance manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness prepared by its manufacturer, or other methods, techniques, or practices acceptable to the Administrator..."

Maybe we should explore this at our next Safety Seminar. And on another note, I wonder if there is a Hindu god of security. TSA can take some lessons here. Can't prove that it would be any less or more effective than what they do today.
