Weather was great at Southbridge, but ceilings were quite low along the route from Willamantic to North Hampton. We had to pass through Westover airspace at 1700' to remain below the clouds. The low ceilings may have reduced the turnout somewhat. Overall the event was a lot of fun. It was a good excuse to land at some airports that we have not visited in a long time.
The total proceeds was $140.00. The first place prize of $250 was donated back to WAPA. 2nd Place Fuel cost $88.00. The remainder of our WAPA shirts and a number of mugs were also given as prizes.
Two decks of cards were shuffled together and spread over the table. Returning pilots drew 7 cards from the pile and the best 5 cards were used for the hand.
