Upcoming Scheduled TWY & RWY Closures (April 26-28) 2004

The following notice was posted up at Swissport from Ron Stella, Airport Operations Shift Manager:

On Monday April 26 through Wednesday April 28 during the hours of approximately 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM there will be two separate scheduled closures of aircraft operation areas. The first will be the Terminal Ramp and sections of TWY B / TWY D. The second will be sections of RWY 15-33/TWY E. ...

This is the Memo From Airport Operations [PDF 186K]

… The closure of RWY 15-33 / TWY E will be contingent on winds and will be closed alternatively of the Terminal Ramp, TWY B / TWY D. ie. both areas will not be closed at the same time.

Terminal Ramp, TWY B / TWY D: During a portion of each of these three days the Terminal Ramp, TWY B between RWY 29 and up to and including TWY D, TWY C and TWY D between RWY 15-33 and TWY B will also be closed. Aircraft exiting the Swissport Ramp will need to taxi out of the Swissport Ramp and utilize the small section of TWY B to get to TWY F. This will allow access to either RWY 15-33 , and TWY D for access to RWY 11-29. Amity and Radio Shop aircraft exiting their ramps will be able to taxi TWY E to RWY 15 or TWY B to TWY F.

RWY 15-33 / TWY E: During the other half of the days and depending upon winds RWY 15-33 will be closed from the RWY 15 Threshold up to the intersection of TWY F/D. With this closure TWY E will also be closed, therefore Aircraft entering / exiting to Amity and the Radio Shop will need to utilize the Cargo Ramp entrance. TWY B Southeast of TWY E and TWY F / TWY D will all be available during this closure.

All closed areas will be marked with construction cones and / or barrels. These areas will have personnel and equipment on them during these times. Please use caution and listen for modified taxi instructions from the ORH ATCT and review the most current Field Condition Report. The order / length of these closures is contingent on other variables but I believe the terminal ramp section will be closed first and for approximately half the day, followed by the RWY 15 section. If you have any questions an Airport Operations Shift Manager can be reached at 508-799-1349. In advance thank you for your patience during this time.
