Amazing Photos from Sept. Thunderbird Crash

AvWeb has an absolutely amazing set of pictures and movies from the September 14th 2003 crash of Thunderbird #6. This AvWeb Article includes links to the high resolution pictures of the crash, and movies both from in-cockpit and from the airshow line.

The above is a thumbnail of a photo taken only 8 tenths of a second prior to the crash. Debris stopped approx. 100 feet from the tower where the photographer was standing. (I think that I would have been running!)

Some more photos, and information including some Q&A with the photographer is at The House of Rapp [www.rapp.org] And another article is found at this F-16 News site [www.f-16.net]
