Winter Party for WAPA Members

WAPA Members… Back in November we decided to hold a post-Holiday party on Saturday, January 31st. E-mail response was light, so we recently decided to hold the event at a restaurant instead of renting a hall. We'll be holding it at Artie's Restaurant in Spencer. Please RSVP

It should be a great time. I have not been to Artie's but Cary had the following to say.

It's a dive! No, really, it LOOKS like a dive from the outside but the inside is…eclectic, I suppose is the best way to describe it. There are two small dining rooms (also a patio in the summer), separated by an open kitchen. Artie has the walls and the ceiling covered with artifacts, posters, pictures, you name it, you could spend the entire dinner looking at all the stuff, some of it really neat. The food is excellent - everything is cooked to order. He is Italian, his girlfriend is Chinese, so the food is….Italian-Chinese! Usually when we go, we just ask what he recommends, then let him cook something up, always delicious! But the best part of that place is the atmosphere: Artie walks around and talks to everybody, sometimes he gets out his guitar and sings. It's very informal and just a lot of fun. Since he's a pilot, he attracts just that kind of a crowd, pilots and pilot wannabes, a GOOD crowd. It's BYOB, and you can also bring your own tablecloth, candles etc., whatever floats your boat. Parking is somewhat limited but manageable. Jack installed much of the infrastructure of the second (new) dining room, and Jack's daughter Alyssa works there as a waitress.

This should be a good time, so Please RSVP as soon as Possible! We need to get a count of how many people will be attending ASAP (There are only 9 people signed up so far, so please sign up soon so that the restaurant can plan!).
