Eric Waldron points out that MVY will be closed from approximately 9 to 11 AM this Sunday the 23rd. So plan your flight times accordingly!
The Martha's Vineyard Airport in association with responders from the Island's Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Service departments will be conducting an exercise of the Airport's Emergency Response Plan between 9 and 11 a.m. on Sunday March 23rd. During this period the Airport will be closed to air operations. Pilots are reminded to check the NOTAMS for actual times.
This exercise is a requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration and is conducted once every three years to assist in emergency response preparedness.
Passengers and other airport users will be allowed access to the airport during the event, however the airfield will be closed to air operations during the period. Airport tenants are reminded to have airport issued identification available for access during this period.
