Vehicle Access coming soon to Worcester

At the WAPA meeting this week, Eric Waldron, Director of Worcester Airport, was very pleased to announce that Vehicle Access will soon be returning to Worcester!. However the rules will be different than before and escort will be required To and From your tiedown or hangar. The current access by foot through Swissport will still be available. So please read the rules and regulations carefully. Read on for more details.

(Large Files!)The original Announcement Letter (692K) explains the new procedures. The two-page application consisting of a Airfield Access Application (324K) and Rules And Regulations (612K) can be downloaded in Adobe PDF format and printed. I have also posted text versions of the Announcement Letter and Rules And Regulations for faster download times. Also note that the Rules and Regulations are ammended by the announcement letter, which details the escort requirements.

This is really great news, but everyone should realize that if there are any issues with pilots not following the new procedures, we may very well loose this privilege. So please read the Announcement Letter and follow the new procedures carefully! And don't forget. If you forget something and have to return to the FBO, you must call for a vehicle escort off the field, or you can walk. Don't drive back without the escort!

Access a reality

Last week I was able to pick up a sticker for vehicle access to the field. I was told for the time being that all entries will have to be made by calling the airport police. A separate squawk box is at the gate for calling. Let's all follow the rules.
